Review: ASUS AIO Desktop ET2220INTI-i5

During the recent June PC Show 2013, I helped my mother-in-law purchase the ASUS All-In-One (AIO) Desktop ET2220INTI-i5. She is moving away from laptop to the AIO to better enjoy her home entertainment. The ET2220INTI-i5 comes with a 21.5″ Full HD (1920 x 1080) 10-point touch screen LED-backlit LCD panel. It is slim and basically takes up as much space as a 15″ notebook in terms of depth. The AIO took up a total of 54.96 x 5.8 x 37.98 cm (WxDxH) of table space. If you prefer to wall-mount it, the wall-mount screws are provided as well.

The AIO is running on the i5-3330 (6MB Cache 3.0GHz, with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz) Ivy-bridge processor and comes with pre-installed Windows 8 operating system to fully utilise the touch panel. The AIO comes installed with the NVIDIA GT610 1GB graphics card, which is good enough for movies, basic games and work. The audio is quite decent as it is using the SonicMaster Technology and blasting it to the maximum still ensures detailed audio clarity. Most importantly, the AIO comes with 3-years on-site warranty.

The AIO is loaded with the default configuration of 4GB SO-DIMM memory, and is upgradeable to a maximum of 8GB DDR3 PC12800 (1600MHz) SO-DIMM memory. Other components include a 1TB HDD, 2.0M webcam, a DVD-writer and built-in WIFI.

Let me now share more on the unboxing process, the accessories which came along, and the buttons/ports found on the ASUS AIO ET2220INTI-i5.

In terms of packaging, ASUS has done a very good job throughout most of its products and is indeed ECO-friendly. Everything was compactly packaged with minimum space wastage. There is only the AIO and a small card box containing the accessories.
