Review: LG Optimus F5 Non-Camera (LG-P875)

After spending quite some effort to source for the LG Optimus F5 non-camera phone, lady luck finally smiled on me. I managed to grab hold of a few units for my friends and myself. This is the first non-camera phone that supports 4G/LTE (800MHz/1800MHz/2600MHz). The design is simple and sleek, and fits well in the hand. We shall first begin with the un-boxing process before we go into more details.

The accessories that came along is pretty standard. It included a 2-pin charger, a micro-usb cable and a 3.5mm in-ear earpiece. Do check that your unit must come with the “Certificate of Camera Removal” card, as it is required to verify that the camera removal is performed by LG. The set is made in Korea. The bundled battery was rated at 2150mAh, and should have enough juice to last me a day based on my current usage pattern. The battery usage time varies for different people.

Review: SanDisk Ultra® Plus Solid State Drive (128 GB)

Having already owned the SanDisk Extreme® Solid State Drive and been satisfied with the performance thus far, I decided to go for another SanDisk SSD to upgrade Annabelle’s laptop which is still running on the conventional 5400rpm hdd. This time round, it is the newly launched SanDisk Ultra® Plus SSD. As Annabelle is a light user, a 128GB SSD shall suffice her requirements.

The SanDisk Ultra® SSD is built using SanDisk’s own MLC nand and is based on Marvell’s SS889175 controller. It is compatible with SATA3 (6.0Gb/s) interfaces and is also backwards-compatible with SATA/SATA2 interfaces. Its built is at 7mm thick, and would fit into most ultrabook and laptop. For those who required a 9mm SSD, there is a 2mm spacer included too. The SSD is running at a low power consumption of 0.12w. Hopefully, this will increase Annabelle’s laptop operating hours while on battery. The SSD is backed by 3-year warranty limited warranty.

Review: ASUS AIO Desktop ET2220INTI-i5

During the recent June PC Show 2013, I helped my mother-in-law purchase the ASUS All-In-One (AIO) Desktop ET2220INTI-i5. She is moving away from laptop to the AIO to better enjoy her home entertainment. The ET2220INTI-i5 comes with a 21.5″ Full HD (1920 x 1080) 10-point touch screen LED-backlit LCD panel. It is slim and basically takes up as much space as a 15″ notebook in terms of depth. The AIO took up a total of 54.96 x 5.8 x 37.98 cm (WxDxH) of table space. If you prefer to wall-mount it, the wall-mount screws are provided as well.

The AIO is running on the i5-3330 (6MB Cache 3.0GHz, with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz) Ivy-bridge processor and comes with pre-installed Windows 8 operating system to fully utilise the touch panel. The AIO comes installed with the NVIDIA GT610 1GB graphics card, which is good enough for movies, basic games and work. The audio is quite decent as it is using the SonicMaster Technology and blasting it to the maximum still ensures detailed audio clarity. Most importantly, the AIO comes with 3-years on-site warranty.

The AIO is loaded with the default configuration of 4GB SO-DIMM memory, and is upgradeable to a maximum of 8GB DDR3 PC12800 (1600MHz) SO-DIMM memory. Other components include a 1TB HDD, 2.0M webcam, a DVD-writer and built-in WIFI.

Baby Ashley’s 3 month-old photoshoot @ Venus D’Wedding

Earlier, Colin has shared with you our little darling’s swimming experience at BabySpa. In that post, he mentioned a complimentary table top photo which came together with the swimming package we got for Ashley. Being like any other excited first-time parents, we wasted no time in bringing Ashley for her first studio shoot when she turned 3 months. That’s when we realized that it is not easy to do a photo shoot for the little angel. Although she is a active and happy baby, it proved challenging to capture her smiles and action in just one shot. Nevertheless, we were glad that the photographer tried his best to capture her cutest moments in still shots. As usual, it was a tough decision to select just one photo for the photo frame and thrash the rest into the recycle bin. Therefore, we decided to top up for an additional of 5 photos for our little angel and our rationale, as any parent would have was, ” She’ll only be 3 months old once!” We were really glad we did the top up when we received the photos yesterday as we were satisfied with the quality of the photo shoot. Here’s a peek into the outcome of Baby Ashley’s 3 month old photo shoot  at Venus D’ Wedding.

Ashley @ BabySPA

A haircut visit turns into an unexpected swimming sessions for Ashley! We did see BabySPA previously before Annabelle gave birth to Ashley while window shopping at Changi City Point Mall. There were thoughts but no decision made as we were unsure if Ashley would enjoy.

After trimming Ashley’s hair, we brought Ashley for the swimming trial before deciding whether to sign up the package. After seeing how Ashley enjoyed herself in the water, we signed up the 20-sessions package. The package also came with a tabletop photo which you have to take at Venus D’Wedding. The staff there was friendly and helpful, at least for the branch which we frequent. Other services which BabySPA provides are haircut, baby massage, sales of Korean-made playmats, beans spout husk pillows and etc.
