My Melody Cafe Suntec

Having heard from a friend that My Melody Cafe has opened at Suntec City, we decided to bring Ashley to try out the new cafe today as we figured there would not be a crazy queue at 11 plus in the morning after Ashley’s ballet class. Expectedly, we were the first in line and quickly got our table within 5 minutes. The cafe is relatively small with about 10 tables therefore the wait might take a while if the queue is long so be prepared to stand in the queue or alternatively, one can hop over to the Gudetama Cafe just next door.
Similar to the Hello Kitty Cafe, there is a limited variety to their menu but who cares if the patron is into My Melody. And for Ashley, anything pink goes. Being the indulgent daddy, Colin ordered On Cloud Nine, a mixed berries tea with cotton candy garnished with fresh strawberries, mint leaves and My Melody macaron and instead of having a sweet berries tea, I had a berries tea with no sweetness as my cheeky girl finished all the cotton candy. Being drawn to the beautiful colour, I ordered Butterfly Splendour, a butterfly pea flower tea with juicy lychees and blueberries infused with thyme leaves. Other than the beautiful colour, it did not wow-ed me further as I do not really taste the blueberries and lychee in the tea and I must say butterfly pea flower tea is not really my cup of tea. Food wise, we ordered Princess Bunny and “I Heart You” chicken waffles. For kids who love Japanese curry rice, Princess Bunny would be a good choice as it is not spicy and sweet. For little girls, this would be a great hit with the cute My Melody design. As for the chicken waffles, I have to be honest that I have tasted better chicken waffles and this would only be average in terms of the taste. To round off the meal, we gave in to Ashley’s request for Little Cutie, a vanilla soft serve on crisp waffle basket topped with marshmallows, crunchy strawberry sticks, butter biscuits and My Melody cookie. Although it may taste like any ordinary sundae, the cutesy appearance makes it appealing to patrons.
If you were to ask if we would return for another visit, we would probably say yes as Ashley loves pretty stuff and given the outlook of the dishes served at the cafe, we wouldn’t be surprised if we were to give in to Ashley’s request again. But if it were to be just Colin and I, I guess we would not take the effort to go through the queue just for the food.
