For those following our blog, this is a follow up review on my 20 Day Confinement Meal Package with Richfood Catering. Do note that the 20 Day package includes weekends as I mistook the package to only include weekdays and I had to waste food on one of the Saturdays when I headed out for Ashley’s dance class. With this, I would like to give special mention to Nigel, my contact over at Richfood catering who has provided nothing but exceptional customer service from day 1, helping me to reschedule my tingkat delivery every now and then throughout the 20 days even when I have informed him one day before the actual day of delivery.
Moving on to the quality of the delivered food, food is always warm upon delivery and you do not have to worry about eating cold food. Previously mentioned, I have decided on RichFood Catering as I am not so adventurous with food and prefer the traditional confinement food prepared by RichFood. In particular, I love the cod fish which tasted really soft and fresh and I would always look forward to seeing the dish during lunch. There was also a meal that I had my favourite pig trotters with vinegar. It might not be as spicy as what my confinement lady had prepared for me previously but nevertheless it still tasted pretty decent for a caterer. For mummies who are keen on engaging RichFood, you can pop on over to their website to check out their menu.
Here are some of the dishes that I had over the 20 days of confinement food catering with them.
If some of you had caught my earlier post, you would know that I am not such an easy eater afterall and that I am still sourcing for a caterer for my confinement meals. The journey back to desktop search can be overwhelming viewing through different confinement meal caterers and deciding on which caterer to next select for my trial meal. I am thankful to a fellow mummy who introduced me to RichFood Catering which she has tried during her first pregnancy after I told her about my preference for traditional confinement food.
There are several factors that drew me to RichFood Catering; (1) the variety of confinement meal packages, (2) confinement menu and (3) reasonable price package. Therefore, I wasted no time in contacting RichFood Catering to arrange for a trial meal as I treaded closer to my EDD. I would like to take this opportunity to commend the excellent customer service provided by Nigel, particularly in his prompt replies to my queries and help in arranging for my trial confinement lunch on a Sunday (as trial meals are only on Saturdays).
Further commendable about RichFood Catering is that the food was delivered before the stipulated delivery time of 1pm despite of bad weather which comforts me that I will still be able to have my meal on time even on bad weather days. With food delivered in RichFood Catering’s personalized food warmer, you do not have to worry about getting your food wet on a rainy day.
Here is a sneak peek on the postnatal trial meal I had: Dang Gui Huang Qi pork ribs soup, Chinese motherwort with chicken, Stir-fry French Beans with Fish Maw, white rice and red date soup. I really love the way the food is cooked as it reminded me of home cooked confinement meals I had when I was pregnant with Ashley.
Luckily for me, RichFood solved my headache of going through more trial confinement meals and I have finally checked off another tick off the task list before Baby Kingsley’s arrival.
* The postnatal confinement trial meal was complimentary in return for the review to be conducted. No other compensation was provided.
